At Timbercation, we believe that great craftsmanship and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. As a business rooted in nature, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices in everything we do - from material choices to site operations and waste reduction.

1. Our Commitment

We are a small business, but we believe every action counts. Our sustainability goals are to:

Minimise waste from our building projects
Source responsibly and choose sustainable materials
Protect the natural environment in the areas we work
Educate and encourage our clients to choose eco-conscious solutions

2. Sustainable Sourcing

Wherever possible, we aim to:

Use FSC®-certified or reclaimed timber
Work with local suppliers to reduce transportation miles
Avoid the use of harmful or non-recyclable materials
Offer clients eco-friendly alternatives (e.g., insulation, finishes, cladding)

3. Waste Reduction & Recycling

We make every effort to:

Plan materials carefully to minimise offcuts and wastage
Reuse materials on future projects where appropriate
Recycle responsibly, including wood, metal, and packaging waste
Keep job sites tidy and reduce single-use plastics

4. Energy & Transport

We plan our work efficiently to reduce unnecessary travel and emissions
We encourage remote design consultations where appropriate
We aim to improve our fuel efficiency and explore cleaner transport options in future

5. Local Impact

We’re proud to work in some of the most beautiful parts of Cumbria and the North West, and we strive to:

Respect natural surroundings and wildlife when working on-site
Minimise disruption to local environments during construction
Support local businesses and craftspeople wherever we can

6. Ongoing Responsibility

This is an evolving commitment. We regularly review our policies and seek new ways to improve our sustainability practices as Timbercation grows. We also welcome suggestions from clients, suppliers, and the community.
